FAQ
Costs, timelines, content, hosting, ownership and how white label works.
How long does a new website take?
Between one day and two weeks for most sites, depending on how much content there is and how quickly it arrives. A single-page site can be live the same week. Stores and custom applications take longer and get a date in the quote.
How much does a website cost?
Most small business sites land between $690 and $2,000. Stores and custom applications start around $3,400. Everything is fixed-quoted before work begins.
What do you need from me to start?
A rough page list, your logo, your brand colours if you have them, any photographs you want used, and a decision on who signs things off. If you do not have some of that, we can supply or arrange it.
Do you write the content?
We can. Most clients supply the raw information and we shape it into copy that reads well and ranks. Full copywriting is priced in the quote rather than assumed.
Can you redesign my existing site?
Yes, and this is a large part of what we do. The important part of a redesign is not the design, it is mapping the old URLs to the new ones so you do not lose your search traffic on launch day.
Will my site work on phones?
Every site we build is designed at phone width first and tested on real devices. More than half your visitors will be on a phone, so that is where the design starts.
Do you do SEO?
Yes. Technical foundations are included in every build. Ongoing SEO, content and link work is a separate monthly service if you want it.
Who owns the website when it is finished?
You do, completely. Full source, all logins, no licence key, no shared theme, no subscription needed to keep it running. You can move it to another developer the day after launch if you want to.
Do you host?
We can, from about $29 a month, on Australian infrastructure with SSL and daily backups. You are equally welcome to host wherever you like.
What is a care plan and do I need one?
Updates, backups, uptime and security monitoring plus an allowance of content changes each month, from $69. You do not have to take one. Sites that go three years without an update are the ones that get hacked.
Can you work under my agency's name?
Yes. White label is a core part of the business. Your branding, your client relationship, and we never make contact unless you ask.
Do you take on international clients?
Regularly. We are in Sydney and work with clients across time zones. Most communication is asynchronous anyway.
What happens if something breaks after launch?
Small fixes in the first fortnight are part of the job. After that it is either your care plan or hourly work, and genuine bugs in what we built are always fixed at our cost.
Can you fix a site someone else built?
Often, yes. We will look at it first and tell you honestly whether it is worth repairing or whether you would spend less rebuilding it.
Do you build in WordPress?
When it suits the job. WordPress and WooCommerce are home ground, but plenty of sites are better as a fast static build with no database at all. We choose based on what the site has to do, not on habit.
Can you integrate with the systems we already use?
Usually. Payment gateways, accounting packages, CRMs, booking tools, marketplaces and shipping providers are all routine. Tell us what you run and we will confirm before quoting.
